My favorite social network is: Reddit
What do you like about working as a social marketer? Connecting people to brands in a meaningful way. It’s more matchmaker, and less traditional “marketer," and I like the organic reality behind that. Plus, I think it makes for more honest and less “forced” brand advocacy.
The question I get asked most often about my job is: Wait, so you’re telling me you don’t have to hide your Facebooking?
My favorite part about working at matchstick is: Working with such a great group of fun, smart people. We’re a small, focused team that truly practices what we preach, and it’s hard to find that in a lot of the big corporate firms. It’s also an exciting, burgeoning industry and since we all sit near each other in one big room, there’s a contagious, dare I say TMZ-esque spirit of collaboration at times.
My favorite Charleston weekend activity is: Good live music, preferably at Holy City Brewing.
Favorite movie quote: “I agreed that what really matters is what you like, not what you are like… Books, records, films – these things matter. Call me shallow but it’s the fuckin’ truth, and by this measure I was having one of the best dates of my life.” –Rob, in High Fidelity
If I could have any pet in the world, I would have: A golden retriever (I know, incredibly generic/boring, but that’s my answer, and I’m stickin’ to it).
My work philosophy: It’s a cliché, and there are definitely people who disagree, but I really believe that you should love what you do. It’s not easy to find, but if you can get work you enjoy, you’ll produce a better product, and be a happier person.
