Wait, there was a game on last night? We usually just tune in for the fantastic advertising. OK, maybe we do have a few football fans among us (I love me some Tawm Brady), but our restroom breaks were never during the commercials.
Here are some of our favorite Super Bowl ads from last night:
It’s pretty surprising that this brand sprung for a Super Bowl spot, but they made it worth it. “First Draft Ever” was hilarious, especially when the Polar Bear is hoping to go to Brazil (no such luck, buddy).
You know it’s good when you’re not really aware of the brand at all and then love it after just one 60-second spot. This feel-good, borderline creepy expose of uncool was just what we needed.
Sorry, Kim, but we thought the Sarah Silverman and Chelsea Handler ad for Wi-Fi calling was absolutely hilarious. And in case you missed it, the best line of the commercial was when Sarah handed the baby to the couple and said, “Sorry, it’s a boy.”
Toyota’s new campaign centers around Dads being the most awesome, but we especially loved this spot, “My Bold Dad,” which featured a dad dropping his daughter off at the airport with her military cohorts and remembering her youth. The tears are flowing.
No matter how cynical you are about their food (or nutrition), McDonald’s did a great job focusing on the families that frequent their establishment. We hope to see some real videos of people “paying with lovin’.”
We saw a lot of TV show and movie previews during the Super Bowl, but none of them were hilarious like Ted 2 featuring Tom Brady. Perfect timing, guys.
